Ab März gibt es (schön teure) SONY Notbucks auch mit +/- Brenner. Da Plus später drann war als Minus, gabs bislang nur wenige Minus-Flundern. Das wird sich wohl bald ändern (was zu erwarten war).
SONY INTRODUCES FIRST NOTEBOOK PC WITH DUAL FORMAT DVD RECORDABLE DRIVE
LAS VEGAS, CES Booth #N109, Jan. 8, 2003 _ Sony's new high-end VAIO® notebook PC allows users to burn DVDs and eliminates confusion over DVD formats. The simple to use Click to DVD™ software and built-in DVD+/- RW drive make the VAIO PCG-GRV680 notebook a powerful tool for creating professional quality DVDs.
The GRV680 notebook makes video editing easier on the eyes with a vibrant 16.1-inch SXGA display. The spacious 60-GB hard drive accommodates large video files with room to spare. And the Intel® Pentium® 4 processor 2.60 GHz provides more than ample horsepower to keep up with even the most ambitious of would-be movie makers.
The VAIO PC's dual format DVD recordable drive allows users to record and play back the four most popular types of DVD media - DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R and DVD+RW - giving them the utmost in flexibility and compatibility with the various available DVD playback devices.
Sony's exclusive Click to DVD software makes DVD authoring as simple as a couple of mouse clicks. By connecting a camcorder to the VAIO PC via the i.LINK® (IEEE 1394) digital interface and hitting the "Create DVD" button, users can produce a high-quality DVD movie, complete with animated backgrounds, music and moving chapter menus.
"When you are turning your home movies to DVD, the last thing you want to worry about is what kind of disk to use," said Mark Hanson, vice president and general manager of VAIO PC marketing.
Data to DVD: Just Drag and Drop
In addition to creative endeavors, the dual format drive also supports the backup and archiving of large amounts of data -- up to 4.7 GB. Packet writing capabilities allow users to write data to the disk at different times without having to reformat. The notebook comes standard with DigiOn™ and EasySystems Drag `n Drop CD+DVD software for quick and easy data transfer from hard drive to archival media.
The retail model, GRV680, will be available in March. _________________
