TAIPEI, TAIWAN (May 20, 2003) - BenQ announces that in the second half of May, it will launch the world's fastest DVD+RW drive-the BenQ DW400A. The DW400A offers 4x write and 4x re-write speeds, handily surpassing the DVD burner products of its global competitors. Utilizing key components from Philips BenQ Digital Storage (PBDS) and through the efforts of BenQ's elite R&D team, the company makes the optimal use of the most advanced DVD burning technology in the DW400A.

The BenQ DW440A includes BenQ's exclusive Tilt Control technology, which automatically adjusts the angle of the write head to maintain burn quality. The DW440A fully supports Mount Rainier technology, which simplifies and speeds the burning process. A specially designed software interface effectively eases the learning curve for newcomers to DVD burning, allowing users to quickly incorporate a new source of enjoyment into their lifestyles.

The BenQ DW400A comes with three software applications for playback, editing, and burning to help individual users and families perform digital video editing and burning DVDs of their creations. By allowing users to preserve video clips, full-length movies, music, and any other digital data onto an optical disk, the DW400A is an ideal tool for producing one's own custom DVDs for personal enjoyment and sharing.
