Auweija ... K7 = Flop?

There are a number of threads reporting K-7 sensor and other issues, and cameras being replaced. Since it's a Samsung
sensor, that's not great publicity.

IMO Samsung has the GX-30 in the lab, but has no reason to release it in the face of Pentax' negative publicity.

That thread is out to 11 pages at present, and there's a reference to a Pentax statement in German.

IMO:

My feeling is that the basic sensor was designed for K20D, and they reworked it
(and other systems) for video, which requires more Live View. Then they shrunk
the body, and sealed it. There's just no place for the heat to go; so they end
up with a thermometer to warn the users.

Any video-enabled camera has to do more than its earlier iteration for stills
only. Having ventilation, and room in the casing, is critical. Flaky things
happen to electronics running too hot; and generally their life-span is reduced.

Nicht schlecht, aber vom Hocker reissen tuts ned. Einfach zu teuer das Dingens für das was es leistet
(nichtmal bewegliches Display, Dichtung is for the cat, fahr ned täglich in die Sahara)

Gehäuse allein > 1100 - 1200 € - ist ja zum Lachen!

Theoretisch käme sie mit einem (sauguten, videotauglichen!) 14-140 auf stolze 2100 € ... also 35% teurer als GH1 (und schlechter)

Kauf die GH1 und gib a Ruh!
